This past weekend, February 8th & 9th, we participated in the Trailblazer Classic. We took two teams to this event. The format is Saturday we bowl four team games and then 16 baker games. On Sunday we then bowl a single elimination bracket match play finals. Each match is a best of five game match.
On Saturday, the Varsity shot 3578 for the four team games followed by a 3276 for 16 bakers. This put us into 5th place heading into Sunday's match play.
Junior Varsity shot 3464 for the team games and 3016 for the bakers. Which put us in 4th place heading into match play on Sunday.
On Sunday, Varsity bowled against Vincennes University. We fought tough, but ended up losing in five games giving us a finish of tied for 5th.
Junior Varsity bowled against Illinois the first match and won in three games. Our next match was against Marian University (Indianapolis) and we took them to the wire but ended up losing in five games. This gave us a tied for 3rd place finish.
Individually, we had several players place well. Zach Weidman was our high finisher in 16th with a 773 for four games. Also placing high was Jacob Wright (18th), Jeff Tinich (18th), Jonathan Tooker (20th), Zach Dohner (24th), and Kyle Koneval (30th).
Next week, we are off to Indianapolis for the Hoosier Classic, the biggest Tier 1 of the year and our final tournament of the regular season.
