On the weekend of October 21 and 22, the Boilermakers traveled to Indianapolis for the Western Shootout. On day one, the women bowled 6 team games. On day two, we made our way back to bowl 15 baker games.

After the first day, the Varsity team sat at 15th place out of 34 (total of 5187) while the JV sat at 31st (total of 4581). Coming back the second day, both teams had moving up in the standings on the mind. After a tough and unforgiving oil pattern, both teams were able to do just that. Varsity ended the weekend in 13th place with a total count of 7698. The JV moved up four spots to take the 27th spot with a total of 6836. These standings were out of 34 teams. Congratulations to both teams on making it through a long and stressful weekend successfully.

A special congratulations to Alexis Cox for finishing tied for 18th out of over 200 girls. She had a final 6-game total of 1125. Great work!

The Purdue Women's Bowling Team will be traveling to Canton, Michigan for the American Heartland 1 and 2 on October 28 and 29. We look forward to conquering one of the most difficult and enduring tournaments of the season!
Good luck to all and BOILER UP!!

On September 30th and October 1st, Purdue hosted the first tournament of the season, The Boilermaker Classic. It was a great way for the Women to kick-off the 2017-2018 season with some good finishes both as teams and as individuals.

With this being the first season in a few years that the girls have had enough bowlers for two teams, it was an interesting change. Head coach Bob Davidson and new JV Coach Joe Cox had high expectations for both teams and stated that, "The Women's team did NOT disappoint!"

The Varsity team ended the tournament in 6th place out of 13 teams with the JV team finishing their division in 5th. Great team effort by both groups! What a great start to the year for both teams!

Congratulations goes out to Elizabeth Manes, Alexis Cox, Autumn Miller, Alexandra Jewell, Emily Maneke, and Samantha Diefenbacher for finishing in the top 50 in the tournament out of nearly 130! Special congrats to Elizabeth Manes and Alexis Cox for finishing in the top 15! Great work all around ladies!

The PIBC will continue our journey to Sectionals by traveling to Indianapolis for the Western Shootout on October 21st and 22nd. Good luck to all teams! Can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us! Boiler Up!

On April 8th and 9th, the Lady Boilermakers competed in their last competition of the season. On Saturday, the ladies were put in the Weimer pool, along with Bellarmine University, West Texas A&M University, and University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Each team bowled 6 baker games against the other three teams in the pool, to determine pool standing which was based on total pins and points that were awarded for each head-to-head win. The Lady Boilers placed third in their pool, scoring 2 points and knocking down 3601 pins. After pool play ended, the bracket competition began. The bracket was double elimination with the winners bracket being best 3 of 5 bakers, and the contenders bracket being best 2 of 3 bakers. The Ladies first bowled against Grand Canyon University and won in 3 straight bakers. They then continued on to face Bowling Green State University, losing 1-3.
Sunday the Ladies came back to face Minnesota State University Mankato. All three matches were within a couple pins, and in the end the Boilers fell 1-2.
While the competition came to an abrupt end, the Ladies were proud to be competitive while bowling 7 man bakers and can't wait for next season to begin!

December 26th Purdue's Varsity Bowling teams made the long trek cross country to Allentown, Pennsylvania for two tournaments. On the 27th and 28th the Boilermakers bowled in the Keystone Quaker Collegiate Classic. Five teams games were bowled the first day, followed by 20 baker games the second day. After the completion of the first frames of the first team game, the Lady Boilers were surprised by the addition of two more parents to the cheering squad. They had sneakily schemed to surprise their daughter by coming to and supporting the team throughout the week's bowling events. With our honorary assistant coach now present, the Ladies knocked down a total of 3895 pins, ending day one in 9th place. The Boilermakers continued to bowl strongly through the baker games on day two of the tournament. The Ladies ended up knocking down a total of 3273 pins, securing their 9th place finish.

The ladies hit the lanes hard again on December 28th, marking the beginning of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic. Many of the ladies enjoyed the wood lanes that reminded them of their childhood and home lanes. Again, teams bowled 5 team games the first day, followed by 20 baker games on day two. During this tournament, the ladies broke or tied all of their previous stats, earning them pizza from Coach Bob. They bowled a new high team game series, and Alexis Cox tied Elizabeth Mane's high individual game of 225. They ended the team games in 11th place, having knocked down 3956 pins. He next day, the ladies continued their record breaking trend by setting a new high baker game not once, but twice. The Ladies first bowled a 208, and then came back later in the day to bowl a 216. The Ladies ended up knocking down a total of 3298 pins, moving them in to 10th place. Besides hitting the lanes, the ladies enjoyed hanging out, playing cards, a trip to the mall, watching various shows, movies and sports games on tv, and of course their pizza reward.

The Lady Boilermakers will be in action again on January 21st and 22nd in Addison, Illinois, at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic. Boiler Up! *choo choo*

The varsity Purdue bowling teams were back in action this past weekend at the American Heartland Tournaments 1 and 2. On Saturday teams bowled 5 team games followed  by 12 baker games. The lady boilermakers started off by picking up 3855 pins during the team games, and then finished strong in bakers with 1736 pins. The Ladies placed 16th overall in the tournament.

On Sunday teams bowled 4 team games and 16 baker games. After an eventful start with Coach Bob  helping take down a locked door to get bowling balls out of the paddock, the Ladies got down to business and bowled 5659 total pins, placing them in 16th. The Ladies also set a season high in baker game set totals. With only six bowlers able to make it to the tournaments, all of the ladies bowled a lot and grew closer as a team through their support of each other. The next tournament the ladies will be competing in is the Keystone Quaker Tournament in Allentown, PA, in December. The ladies will take their time off to practice on different elements of their games in order to be prepared for their first Tier 1 tournament.
